The Hamilton City Salvation Army operates four Family Stores located in: the Central City on Victoria Street, Hamilton East, Five Cross Roads, and Te Rapa. The four stores fill a very real need in the community for low cost clothing, furniture and other household items. Proceeds from these stores fund various Community Ministry operations within The Hamilton City Salvation Army including The Foodbank and Budget Counselling.
The Stores are staffed by a mix of both paid and volunteer staff. Volunteers and staff enjoy the companionship and friendship of working together and often feel it is a second family. There is also a sense of purpose in working for the good of others, The Hamilton City Salvation Army’s programmes and God.
Shopping or volunteering at The Family Stores enables us to meet the various needs of the wider community.
